Imagine Grinnell 2009 Report Highlights Successes

Imagine Grinnell’s 2009 report available online at www.imaginegrinnell.org.  From making donations to the Splash! Campaign to coordinating bike trail clean up, the report details how Imagine Grinnell made a difference in the quality of life for Grinnell residents in 2009.

“We decided to publish our 2009 report online only this year as a way to reduce our footprint on the environment,” says Melissa Strovers, Imagine Grinnell executive director.

“Imagine Grinnell’s mission is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our members and neighbors. This year we expended a great amount of energy to extend the Grinnell Area Recreation Trail. We also worked with area partners to obtain grant funding to support programs on bike education, wellness, energy conservation, and more,” says Denise Lamphier, Imagine Grinnell president. “The annual report illustrates Imagine Grinnell’s commitment to our community. No project is too big or too small. Whether it’s weeding a garden or leading green efforts, Imagine Grinnell accomplishes much in the community thanks to our members.”

Imagine Grinnell is a member-based community organization whose primary focus is enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of Grinnell and the surrounding area.  Created in 1985, the nonprofit organization takes pride in forming and empowering coalitions to implement community improvement projects that improve the quality of life for our people, promote a healthy environment, and complement economic development efforts.

“In 2010, Imagine Grinnell will celebrate its 25th anniversary in Grinnell,” Strovers says. “Sometimes it seems as if we are one of Grinnell’s best kept secrets. The report highlights our 2009 success and shares the story of our volunteers and donors and what they do for our community. I am so grateful to the dedicated people who make sure this organization performs amazing things. I hope that those who are not familiar with Imagine Grinnell will check it out.”
