Public Safety Building Ribbon Cutting
2/26/2010
Pictured l to r, Fire Chief Dan Sicard, Mayor Gordon Canfield, Police Chief Jody Matherly and Larry Wilson, Fourth Ward Councilman. Mayor Gordon Canfield congratulated scores of Firemen, Policemen, Council Members, committee members and the citizens of Grinnell on the planning process and energy that culminated in the Open House Friday the 26th of February at the new Public Safety Building housing the fire and police departments. The facilities lack nothing to be wanted and are state of the art for the next several decades if not more. The technology will knock your socks off, spaciousness, and the ability to perform duties unimpeded provide an atmosphere for efficiency and accuracy. Conference rooms, command headquarters room for disasters, offices, jails, spacious housing for fire equipment, exercise room, kitchen, recreation room and space set aside for historical fire and police items make the facility the envy of any town this size in the nation. Congratulations to everyone involved in this positive step ahead for Grinnell.
