7/23/2010
Pancake Flyer Grinnell, IA (July 20, 2010) – St. Francis Manor Foundation will host a pancake breakfast on Saturday, August 7th as a benefit for the St. Francis Manor building fund. The breakfast will feature Iowa’s favorite, “Chris Cakes,” who provides not only his own blend of pancake mix, which is sold in over 200 specialty shops and supermarkets, but entertains audiences with his pancake flipping skills. Breakfast is served from 7 am to 11 am at the St. Francis Manor Social Center and includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, maple syrup, sausage, coffee or juice. While the breakfast is free, donations are encouraged to support the building fund. “We would love for you to tour the facility to see how this renovation will benefit our residents, their family and friends, and the community,” says Executive Administrator, Dion Schrack. “Remodeling and expanding St. Francis Manor will improve the quality of our residents’ lives, and encourage even more visitors.” Along with volunteer help from the Senior Chamber of Grinnell, the breakfast will feature hourly musical entertainment, hourly door prizes from over 25 local businesses in Grinnell, and optional tours of St. Francis Manor to showcase the expansion and renovation plans. “We’ve already had a wonderful response from volunteers, businesses and other friends. Now this tasty breakfast is another opportunity to show support for a very worthy cause,” says Activities Director, Courtney Cummings. “And,” she adds, “there’s a bonus with local musical talent and maybe even winning a door prize!” If you have questions about the pancake breakfast, please contact Courtney at 641-236-7592. If you are unable to attend the event but would like to know more about giving options for the St. Francis Manor Foundation and building fund, please call 641-236-7592 and ask for Jane or Valerie. For a gift or pledge in the appropriate amount, donors can choose to name a room or program area in memory of or in honor of a group, a business, family members or other loved ones. Dion Schrack, Executive Administrator and Tom Lacina, Chairman of St. Francis Manor Foundation, would welcome a confidential conversation about special giving interests or opportunities.
