Each month the Poweshiek Animal League Shelter (PALS) takes in dogs 

and cats which were picked up as strays in Grinnell and other areas of 

Poweshiek County. Most of these animals are not claimed by their owners. PALS 

also receives phone calls each month from owners who have lost their pets. In 

order to help owners to reunite with their pets, PALS maintains a Lost & Found 

Pets list online. Unlike flyers stapled to bulletin boards, this information site is 

accessible throughout the county 24 hours a day. People who have lost or found
